HAVING FUN WITH ELVIS ON STAGE

1974 erschien in den USA diese sehr interessante und zugleich ungwöhnliche LP. Ungewöhnlich deshalb, weil Elvis auf diesem Album kein einziges Lied singt. Es handelt sich hierbei um eine sogenannte "Sprechplatte". Man findet hierauf "Schnipsel" aus verschiedenen Jahren (1970-1974) von Elvis' Bühnenmonologen, die zwischen seinen Liedern zu hören waren.
Bei einem Teil der LP gibt Elvis einen sehr interessanten und langen Abriss seiner Karriere, wobei er mit dem Wort MEMPHIS (Elvis' Heimatstadt) seine Scherze treibt. Dieser "Lebenslauf" dürfte wohl den interessantesten Teil dieses Albums ausmachen. Ansonsten sagt Elvis Lieder sehr spaßig an und albert viel herum, auch mit seinem Publikum, und das auf eine Art, wie man dies selten von anderen Stars kennt. Man muß diese Platte einfach mal gehört haben. Selbst wenn man kein Englisch versteht, kommt man hier auf seine Kosten.
Ursprünglich erschien die LP nur auf Col. Parkers "Boxcar" Label. Im Oktober 1974 erschien das Album dann auch auf RCA, allerdings zunächst nicht in Europa.
Dem holländischen Fan Club "It's Elvis Time" ist es jedoch gelungen im Juli 1986 die LP unter dem Etikett RCA Special Products bei uns in Europa herauszubringen bzw. wiederzuveröffentlichen.
